Great Scripture

This scripture was part of the Dedicatory Prayer of the Kirtland Temple. I think this is what we should also be praying about in our day.

Doctrine and Covenants 109:54-
Have mercy, O Lord, upon all the nations of the earth; have mercy upon the rulers of our land; may those principles, which were so honorably and nobly defended, namely, the Constitution of our land, by our fathers, be established forever.

It is amazing to think that this was revealed to Joseph Smith in the dedicatory prayer of the Kirtland Temple, at a time when the saints were being persecuted by Americans and unaided by the executers of the Constitution.

I pray always for our country. I'm also amazed at the forbearance of our ancestors. I hope we do as well in our calling to live on the Earth now. It might get really hard before we're there.

It is totally amazing. That's why there is so much opposition to the church, because we have revelation and they are afraid of the rest of the world figuring that out and it would throw a monkey wrench into their evil plans.
