Approval Ratings

Here are a few statistics I found on CNN and Fox News about the Presidents and Congress' approval ratings.

Obama

CNN- According to a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Monday, 51 percent of respondents disapprove of Obama's job performance and 46 percent approve of it.

Fox News-
Job Approval   Approve  Disapprove  Spread

Obama              47.1%        46.7%      +0.4%

Congress

CNN-Fifty-six percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Friday say they think the federal government has become so large and powerful that it poses an immediate threat to the rights and freedoms of ordinary citizens. Forty-four percent of those polled disagree.

Fox News-

Job Approval    Approve    Disapprove    Spread

Congress            17.4%         77.0%          -59.6%

From what I gather this past week the health care bill was passed when a majority of the country didn't want it passed.  I don't understand why members of congress beleive they can just do what they want without representing the majority of the people in the United States.  There jobs as representatives and senators are to cast their vote bassed on the people they represent. It just seems to me that if Congress and the President will not listen to the American people they need to be removed from office and replaced by individuals who will represent the United States people when election time comes around.  We will just have to see what happens in this years elections and in 2012.

I want to point out the we are a Republic NOT a Democracy. This means that the people send representatives to congress to represent the will of the people. This means that they are supposed to vote the way the people want them to. They work for US, we pay their salaries, and expect them to represent us not the other way around. We are their bosses and we can fire them. It is time to get rid of them!
