What Brand Did Hitler Use?

Recently in History we have been learning about World War Two. When it came down to describing Hitler's style of totalitarianism I don't think our history teacher knew as much as he could have. He stated that Hitler's government was a fascist government, which is very true, but he next said that fascism was on the far right wing or far conservative wing of the political scale. According to him fascism is completely opposite to communism and socialism. I believe that fascism, socialism, and communism are all very similar and that they are on the same side of the political scale. Because of this class I decided to learn about what Hitler's brand of totalitarianism is. I came to the following conclusions:

Hitler was a fascist dictator and that is for certain. Hitler and the Nazis were also socialists. Don't get me wrong, Hitler hated communists and even socialists, but it was because of the international ties communism and socialism had to other country's. Being a socialist the Nazi's allowed private property and business but it was highly regulated. Under Nazi socialism Goebbels, Hitler's propaganda leader, caused newspapers to print only stories in support of the Nazi's. The Nazi's were also highly Nationalist, especially in the idea that Aryan's (Germans) were the supreme race. If you put it all together, Hitler and his Nazi party could be categorized under the government type of National Socialist Fascism (my personal government classification of the Nazis).

DESTRUCTIVE-ISM's

Socialism- This is a system of government in which private ownership of property is legal, but through taxes and government regulations the rich are brought down as the poor receive their money. Everything is regulated by the government from businesses to the amount of food you can buy.

Communism- Communism is a system of government designed to make all people equal, however it doesn’t work-out in societies. Under communism all property and land are government owned. The government owns all businesses and factories, even placing citizens in jobs according to government desires. This is an idea intended to work internationally. Russia has had a few famous communist dictators such as Vladimir Lenin and Josef Stalin. Cuba has also had a famous communist dictator named Fidel Castro who gained power with the help of Che Guevara.
Fascism- This is a system of government under the leadership of a dictator; once the dictator gets into power all opposition is silenced. Fascism is a government were private property is allowed, but as in socialism it is regulated by the government. Fascist dictators usually create strong feelings of patriotism in the form of Nationalism. This type of government is very much into the building up of their countries military and conquering others. Famous fascist dictators include its founder Benito Mussolini and Germany’s Adolf Hitler.

There are very few differences between socialism, communism, and fascism. Throughout history they have all led to millions of deaths, destroyed countries, and loss of liberties. Americans should be great students of history especially concerning these three -ism's. If that were the case, then we as Americans wouldn't be deceived when laws with these ideals behind them were presented for approval.

Taxes

I have been thinking lately about how taxes in America should be. I don't think it should matter if you earn $10,000 or $250,000 a year, there should be a fixed percentage for everyone. That way the rich would not be punished for earning their money and other people would have more motivation to earn more money. If taxes were done with an even percentage for everyone it would be more fair than the idea of robbing the rich to pay the poor.

Vladimir Lenin Quote

"We [Marxists] have always known, said, and emphasised that Socialism cannot be "introduced," that it emerges out of the most intense, the most acute class struggle-which reaches heights of frenzy and desperation-and civil war; we have always said that a long period of "birth-pangs"lies between capitalism and Socialism; that violence is always the mid-wife of the old society; that a special state (that is, a specific system of organized coercion of a specific class) comes into existence between the bourgeois and the Socialist society, namely, the dictatorship of the proletariat. Dictatorship implies and means a state of simmering war, a state of military measures of struggle against the enemies of the proletarian power." -Lenin (Lenin, Stalin, and Hitler: The Age of Social Catastrophe by Robert Gellately)

I don't think their will be much violence in the socialist revolution that appears to be slowly taking place in America. Lenin was just too impatient compared to politicians in our country who have slowly been dragging us down the path to socialism.

Interesting Similarities

Here is an interesting scripture that might have similarities to our day.

Alma 59:13-
And it came to pass that Moroni was angry with the government, because of their indifference concerning the freedom of their country.

It is interesting that the Book of Mormon people faced so many similar problems in their society as we do today in ours.

Historic Perspective

Our family went over to Grandma's today and I found out something really interesting. I was asking grandma if I could look at Grandpa's military journal he wrote in a few times during World War Two and we were having a hard time finding it. I did however notice a box that said "WWII Letters". I asked Grandma what it was and she said ooh just some letters your Grandpa wrote to his mother. Ooh that's all they were. Well my Dad and I got them down and he started reading a few; they turned out to be really interesting. Just looking at the addresses on the envelopes showed some history. The dates of the letters were interesting as well. As I was thinking about how cool these letters are my dad helped me come up with the idea that living during history, as my grandma did, just made those old letters while I looked at them as records of my Grandpa I hardly knew at a challenging time in history and his life. So next time I write in my journal I am going to remember that what I write may seem pretty simple to me, but in sixty-five years or so someone will think of my writings as interesting history.

Socialism is Just Plain Funny

I just watched a video clip on the 9/12 website were Nancy Pelocy laughed as she said something along the lines of: Pretty soon the public will be dying for the public option, hahaha. Isn't it funny that our country is going towards socialism. Our countries situation must be a bull-full of laughs and giggles to the ones helping transform it into a socialist country.

Note: I'm feeling a little sarcastic today for those of you taking me serious.

2010: It Can't Get Worse, Can It?

Its 2010, a whole new year. Let's just hope that this year won't be as bad as the previous one. I am just waiting to see what will next be passed to further America down a sorry path. Maybe in November America will decide to get rid of some of its main problems and replace them. Here's hoping for a better year than 2009.
